To create a glide reflection tessellation modify one side of the polygon and then "flip and slide" it with an equal side (Britton, 2009). (Britton, 2000)Įscher's tessellation that uses vertex rotations. Tessellation, but not all irregular polygons can. Vertex rotation tessellations must have equal and adjacent sides so that one side can be modified and rotated about a vertex. (Britton, 2000)Įscher's tessellation that uses midpoint rotations and translations. The polygon can then be rotated 180 degrees to form the tessellation. A polygon side is modified from one vertex to the midpoint and then rotated 180 degrees. Midpoint rotation tessellations are just what the title says. Some of the others I want to point out are The most basic and well known tessellation is a translation tessellation. The different shapes can produce so many different tessellations on their own, but there are also many different ways to modify polygons to produce an endless Reinhardt came up with three cases for when irregular hexagons will tessellate. Triangles and quadrilaterals are awesomeīecause they can all be tessellated. Irregular triangles, quadrilaterals, and hexagons can be tiled and tessellated. Shapes don't have to be regular polygons to tessellate. This link shows the regular polygons that tessellate and also shows some examples. There are also polygons that can be put together with other polygons to produce tessellations as well, such as squares and triangles. Their angle measures can add up toģ60 degrees. If we think about the interior angle measures of theses polygons, it makes sense why they can tessellate. Shapes that can produce tessellations by themselves are triangles, For a polygon to tessellate the total of all the angles around a point must be 360 degrees. Regular tilingĪre tilings that use regular polygons. To better understand this, we should look at tiling. In a sense they have to fit together perfectly. Like a puzzle where there are no holes or overlap. For a tessellation to be produced, the geometric shape has to be able to fit together One thing to note is that not all geometric shapes will tessellate. Every tessellation starts out as a geometric shape that has been manipulated and then repeated The basic mathematics of tessellations are based on geometry. The third area contains your first encounter with the paint-eating bugs. Then, go up the ramp near the top and use the flower to fling to the left. After lighting up the second area, erase the paint around the crystals and mushrooms on the top-left corner of the screen. After lighting up the first area inside Nibble Tunnel, take the path to the left (the one to the right leads to the city of Dinner, but you can’t reach it yet). You can enter the Nibble Tunnel by crossing the bridge of flowers that grow when there’s no paint near them. This, along with the Beanie, composes the first outfit Oats wants to see! It leads you behind Pea and Ginger’s house where you can find the gift containing the Pocket Jacket. Before entering the tunnel, follow the path toward the right. Paint the flowers on the left side of the yard to reach the other side of the fence and head north. Luncheon Kid 2 is in the bush next to his house. From the Wielder’s Tower, travel two spaces west and you’ll come across Basil’s farm. NIbble Tunnel is on the west side of Luncheon. This is no problem for you and your glow-in-the-dark paint! They’ll tell you that there’s trouble in Potluck and you must take the pitch-black Nibble Tunnel to get there. Exit the tower, and speak to the mouse right outside. Wielder Tower is on the northern end of Luncheon. To learn more about the Lost Kids check out our guide: Lost Kid Locations. You can speak to their mother in the area to the left of the cave. While you're on this side of town, you should speak to Beans! If you followed this guide in Chapter 1 - The Dark Forest, then you found some of the Lost Kids. Once out of the cave, you need to return to the Wielder’s Tower. The final screen is a straight path to the exit of Yum Cave. Use the path on the bottom and darken the area if needed to pass through the mushrooms and exit through the left. Erase the paint on them and on the nearby crystals to cause the mushrooms to shrink and allow you to reach the gift containing the Moon Tee. If you colored everything, then there will be mushrooms blocking your path to the gift. This screen contains a gift near the center. Erase the paint on them and on the nearby crystals to cause the mushrooms to shrink and allow you to step through. If you colored everything, then there will be mushrooms blocking your path to the left. Return to the previous screen and go left. After lighting up this next place, you can see use the path just-right of the bottom-center to go onto the cliff and follow it counterclockwise to reach the gift containing the Round Glasses. Light up the next area and head to the right. Use the path at the top of the screen to access the next area. After entering the cave and lighting up the entrance, head north to the next screen.Īfter lighting up the second screen, you can find a gift in a little nook on the right side. There are also mushrooms that grow in the light. This allows you to paint large sections quickly and efficiently! Yum cave contains crystals that, when colored, emit more light. To make things light up more quickly, consider painting large areas at a time by holding down the painting button. The glowing paint will allow you to traverse the cave. Pick up the brush to obtain the glow-in-the-dark paint! To return to the tower, you must traverse through Yum Cave. Therefore, you’re tasked to return to the Wielder’s Tower in Luncheon. Blackberry asks you to return the brush to Chicory. Chapter 2 Begins with you in Blackberry’s house. You can get Intego Mac Internet Security X9 here.ĪVG Antivirus for the Mac is one of a handful of free antivirus for Mac programs. Whichever one of these software suites you choose, you can be sure they offer some of the best protection available for your Mac. Sure, that last one is not something everyone needs, but it’s great for parents. The Mac Premium Bundle X9 adds three more sets of capabilities for $39.99/£23.99 for the first year: the backup prowess of Personal Backup (a good ‘belt’ addition to your Time Machine ‘braces’), the useful cleaning, tidying and general speed optimizing tricks of Mac Washing Machine, and finally the multi-user safe surfing intelligence of ContentBarrier. There’s also a free VirusBarrier Scanner, which you can download on the Mac App Store, Intego’s Internet Security bundle costs $24.99/£20.00 for the first year (if you use this link). The tool offers good compatibility with macOS, and unlike some of the competitors, it looks like a real Mac program. We were also warned when we opened a disk image with a malicious installer. In our testing, Intego VirusBarrier caught all our malware and ‘uninvited software’ samples including ones for other platforms. The AV-Test in June 2023 scored 5.5 out of 6 for protection, 5 out of 6 for performance and full marks for usability. According to AV-Comparitives, it detected a good 99.4 percent of Mac malware, 97 percent of PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) and 100 percent of Windows viruses, so it can be recommended. In the June 2023 test by AV-Comparatives, Intego’s VirusBarrier received an “Approved” rating and showed good performance and improvement compared to previous years. Suspicious files are quarantined, and these can then be marked as trusted, left quarantined or a repair attempt can be made. VirusBarrier X9 can scan every file on any connected disk, including within compressed archives, and it can scan emails and connected iOS devices. Together these tools offer a high level of protection against direct and indirect unwanted software and malware threats. The job of VirusBarrier is self-explanatory, but the second is a two-way firewall, a component you don’t often see included with security software at this sort of price. Intego’s Mac Internet Security X9 suite combines VirusBarrier with NetBarrier to create a pair of utilities designed to catch and kill malware threats, and spot potential intrusion attempts from outside as well as outgoing attempts from rogue software.
On several examples, he either did not see a defender or was not on the same page with his intended target. His pre-snap decision-making is concerning. Those small nuances are advanced-level quarterback play that translates to the NFL. He flashed a slight shoulder fake a few times to freeze defensive backs while anticipating a throw behind them. Richardson demonstrates mature eye discipline, capable of looking off safeties and holding hole defenders to open up receivers. He looks like a natural quarterback when he drops back. His feet sometimes untie from his eyes once he decides to throw. Some of his dropbacks look like simulated drills, stiff but textbook. Richardson moves around the pocket by sliding and shifting while keeping his shoulders square and eyes up. But he’s taking what he’s learning and directly applying it, a sign that he’s a quick study who is still learning how to take instruction and make it his own. It’s clear he spends extensive time with a private quarterback coach and likely has been for years - which all these top quarterback prospects do. However, Richardson is more of a natural quarterback than some Twitter narratives suggest. This process is based on film evaluations and conversations with scouts and evaluators around the league. We’ll unpack what each prospect does best, identify their ideal NFL scheme fits, and then project who they’ll become as professionals based on the shades of NFL quarterback play they already possess. Over four weeks, The Observer is breaking down the top four quarterback prospects, to analyze which of the four might be the best fit for the Panthers and new coach Frank Reich. Stroud (Ohio State) Anthony Richardson (Florida) and Will Levis (Kentucky) all have a case to be the top pick. With the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers will likely select one of four quarterbacks. 1 overall? Breaking down Ohio State QB’s game 1 overall? Breaking down Alabama QB’s game Should Panthers draft CJ Stroud at No. Could Will Levis be the Panthers’ surprise pick? Breaking down Kentucky QB’s game Should the Panthers draft Anthony Richardson? Evaluating the Florida QB after pro day Should the Panthers draft Bryce Young No. He’s based in Las Vegas, where he enjoys golfing in 110-degree heat. He is a distinguished journalist in the national sports betting space. Patrick Everson is a sports betting analyst for FOX Sports and senior reporter for. "I’m shocked by how little action we are taking on C.J. Perhaps more surprising to Cipollini in all of this – the love for Levis and now Richardson, along with all the bets on Young – is the one player who isn’t getting attention in odds to be the NFL’s No. "But Bryce Young still has the most bets, followed by Will Levis. "Richardson is our biggest liability, due to where his price was," Cipollini said. "The action at longer odds currently has Richardson as our No. Someone who attends the combine could easily get information that we wouldn’t be privy to, thus why our limits will be low."Ĭolin Cowherd suggests what Chicago should do, including trading down in the draft.Įven with low limits and quick adjustments to Richardson’s odds, both FOX Bet and BetMGM noted the Florida standout is a trouble spot should he actually be drafted No. Rather, it’s a race to see who gets the information first. "These markets aren’t what happens on the field. In today’s landscape, the bettors get the same information from Adam Schefter – or whomever – as we do," Cipollini said. "Our limits are very low on draft markets. It goes to show the volatility of NFL Draft odds, which are all about information and speculation. Richardson is now the third choice at FOX Bet, behind only favored Young (-143) and second choice Stroud (+320).Īdded BetMGM’s Cipollini: "I wouldn’t say we had a ton of action flooding in, but we had a sharp bettor come in at 40/1 and saw that the market had a steep move, and we reacted with it." "We saw larger wagers initially, an increase in volume Wednesday." "We quickly went to 20/1, 13/1, +750 and finally +600, where the price currently stands," Griffe said. That same day, FOX Bet cut Richardson’s odds in half to +5000. 13, the day after the Super Bowl, and also initially had Richardson at 100/1. Multiple books reported similar movement this week, based on Richardson tickets/money or keeping up with the rest of the market – or a combination of both factors. If I run the Symantec VIP on my phone, and the phone is lost or stolen, I would get a new phone with phone number ported to it (legitimate SIM swap) and call Fidelity support to configure the Symantec VIP 2FA. Assuming I am not missing anything, the sms is less secure. They will then be able to get your sms 2fa code and change password. You will then enter your name, dob, and ssn. If you had sms, then they could sim swap attack, and follow the same step to reset password. To disable it, you have to answer some security question. I was under the impression that as long as vip is active you cannot bypass it to do something like change password unless you disable it. If they did a sim swap attack they still won’t have access to the vip code. The hacker would need access to your phone. The next step would prompt you for the vip number. To elaborate, let’s say you want to reset password, you would fill out your name, dob, and ssn. My original point was not that one's account would be compromised if using Symantec VIP, but just that it is not much stronger than cell phone SMS in this instance due to social engineering attacks. Fortunately, that does not seem to be the case. That would not protect against 2FA being compromised if that were true. I keep cash spread around at 2 or 3 other financial institutions, enough in total to let me live my life for 3-6 months uninterrupted, while I dealt with whatever fallout happened from such a security incident. While possible scenarios like this don't keep me up at night, I acknowledge the possibility of something like this happening at any financial institution and why I don't use any place as a one stop shop. Again, I have all the alerts setup via email and SMS to be notified if anything happens in my account, so if something nefarious happened, I expect I'd be able to contact Fidelity before funds actually left the (virtual) building, but even still, it would be 100% on Fidelity to make me whole as they would of allowed this to happen, not me. Plus, it takes time to sell stock, CD's, Treasury Bills, etc, have them settle and become available for withdrawal. Having made changes over the years I know when changing personal information Fidelity sends message to both your old AND new contact points when that happens (old and new email, old and new SMS, old and new address, etc). Similarly if they logged in, changed my email address, phone number, added banks, etc. If someone was able to gain enough information about me to get a Fidelity rep to replace my current VIP token, well, I expect I'd get a flurry of emails and text messages from my alert settings and I'd deal with it accordingly. When it comes to someone trying to do a "VIP swap" via social engineering at Fidelity, I've turned on all the security settings and alerts Fidelity supports. Also, it's not like you can pick up the phone and call 1-800-Google1 and speak to a human, so little chance of social engineering there to wrest away my GV number. My GV number is locked in my Google account to prevent porting, and my Google account requires a 2FA hardware token to access, so I am not worried about someone hacking my Google account to try and port my GV number out. I've never had a problem with Fidelity and not getting SMS alerts or codes when needed over the years from Grand Central / GV. In my experience, I've hit 2 or 3 banks that don't support VOIP phones for SMS, the most notable recommend on this forum being Ally (where voice calls to GV number work for 2FA code, just not SMS). I've used GV since it was Grand Central, so going back to the mid 2000's and have had it registered as my contact phone with most of the banks I've dealt with for over the last 15+ years, including Fidelity. When I set it up, SSN and SMS code were the sum total authentication. My son is very happy with his costume and can’t wait to wear it to school for the fall party. As Halloween approaches, the appreciation for costumes and costume design increases exponentially. I repeated the process for the second arm guard. This process made it so that there are 2 elastic bands to hold the leather arm guard in place. Then, I hot glued the final leather piece over the plastic. I drew up the elastic ends, and hot-glued them to the plastic. On top of the leather, I layered one of the pieces of plastic. I laid 2 strips of elastic on a piece of newspaper and topped them with one piece of leather. I wanted the arm guards to be stiff, so I cut out pieces of thin plastic from a folder that were slightly smaller than the leather pieces. To make the arm guards, I cut 4 pieces of leather in an arm guard shape. For added security, I hot glued a square of foam board over each end. Next, I hot-glued a piece of elastic to the back of the shield for a handle. Using a craft knife, I cut out the shield. I cut out the shield sections and glued them to a piece of foam core. Then, I cropped the image into 4 sections and printed the shield sections on 4 separate full-size pieces of paper. I made the basic shield with photo editing software by starting from a coloring sheet I found online. This step is optional, but since I had some blue leather on hand, my son really wanted me to add it. Then, I sewed a piece of blue leather to the top of each glove to make a blue cuff. I cut the fingers off of a pair of secondhand leather gloves. We folded the top of the leather sleeve down to make the upper cuff of the boot. The slit is in the back and makes it possible for the leather to fit over the shoe. We pulled the leather sleeve down so that it covered the laces of his shoes. To wear the boots, my son slid the prepared leather sleeve over his pant legs and then put on a pair of brown shoes. I cut a small slit up from the bottom of the leather sleeve and cut the top straight across. I cut the arms off of a secondhand brown leather jacket, removing the buttons and lining. Next, I worked on making leather “boots,” which are actually more like leather leg warmers. I sewed the headband to the opening of the hat. I cut a long, narrow rectangle from the left over green fabric and sewed the short ends together to make a headband. From the rectangles, I cut 2 large triangles, which I sewed together to make a pointed hat. I cut the second green shirt along the side seams to make 2 large rectangles of fabric. I made the hat, tunic, gloves, boots, shield and arm guards.įirst, I cut off the collar and buttons from one of the green shirts so that it became the tunic. The store bought or preowned part of the costume include khaki pants, sword, brown shoes, gray undershirt and 2 brown belts. This year my son’s costume is a mix of store bought and handmade items. He’s been showing me pictures of what Link looks like and reminding me ever since he decided.įor the most part, I prefer putting together a costume with my children rather than buying a premade one because it will last longer and be more comfortable. My son decided months ago that he wanted to be Link from Zelda for Halloween this year. Please read my disclosure policy.Īs Halloween grows closer, the big question in every child’s mind are how much candy will they get and what should they be for Halloween! The choices are endless but they only get to choose one costume and they want it to be the perfect one. Similarly, you should be able to quickly edit and update last year's Christmas sale post with this year's info. (To be honest, this criterion cut the most apps.)Ĭan you use the app in multiple ways? If you create one post for Twitter, it should be easy to repurpose it for Instagram, or even for a flyer. I only included apps that had assets that would allow you to represent yourself or your company in a professional light. You can't slap some cheesy clipart on a graphic that represents your brand, or keep recycling the same social media post design over and over. Especially when there are great apps out there you could be using.Īre the design assets varied and professional? It's easy to find social media templates online, but many of them are awful. But even if you're not (yet) paying for a service, you shouldn't be hamstrung by a slow, janky, and just unpleasant experience. Is the app experience good? A free graphic design app has the potential to be, frankly, awful to use (looking at you, GIMP). I wanted apps that streamlined the process of creating strong graphics, not offering every tool under the sun. Is this app suited well for social media marketing? Again, Photoshop and Illustrator can do incredible things, but they're complete overkill for most people trying to create images for their social media marketing channels. This isn't to say there won't be some learning curve, just that it doesn't require a textbook to climb. If you have the chops to use Photoshop and pay for it, you'll probably get the best results, but it isn't the right option for the majority of people looking for a free tool. Social media management is rarely done by people with a design background, so any app has to cater to regular people. Is this app easy enough for anyone to use? Tools like Photoshop and Illustrator (which I love) are incredible in the right hands, and unusable in the wrong ones. I generally focused on the overall ease of use and professional offerings of each app, but I also had some key criteria that each app needed to meet to be included on this list: I also created at least two test posts using the templates (with most of the favorites, even more). To test each app, I spent a significant amount of time browsing hundreds of themes to get a feel for the quality of each one. Even if something is free, I won't recommend it if it's awful. I didn't expect these free social media post makers to eclipse it, but they had to offer a great service. I've relied on Adobe Photoshop for over a decade, and it sets a high bar for paid products. I'll also flag what you get if you're prepared to pay a few dollars a month-some of these options have great value paid plans. Granted, some of these are more limited free plans of premium products, but they're all up to the job of creating awesome images for your social media marketing channels. I've considered close to 40 free graphic design apps and found five great, free resources. What makes graphic design apps free isn't necessarily a lack of quality, but a lack of some powerful design features and nice-to-have extras, like AI-powered features. Being able to repurpose the posts you've already made is a huge time-saver.Īnd you don't need to pay huge prices to get incredible results. Then, all you have to do is mix and match things with your own brand elements to have something unique and powerful. This is why a good graphic design app is so crucial: instead of starting from scratch each time, you have a range of great templates and design resources (like stock images, icons, shapes, and text styles) ready to go. It's more important that you get your content out into the world where people can actually see it than you pore over every pixel to get things perfect. Social media posts have a very short lifecycle, so you shouldn't spend hours creating them. For more details on our process, read the full rundown of how we select apps to feature on the Zapier blog. We're never paid for placement in our articles from any app or for links to any site-we value the trust readers put in us to offer authentic evaluations of the categories and apps we review. We spend dozens of hours researching and testing apps, using each app as it's intended to be used and evaluating it against the criteria we set for the category. All of our best apps roundups are written by humans who've spent much of their careers using, testing, and writing about software.
